Party Planning Mom

Party planning isn’t just for professionals.  Moms do so much party planning every year that it isn’t even funny.  Moms do a great job every year celebrating all manner of accomplishments and milestones for their kids and families.

When I looked for party planning ideas for an airplane themed birthday party, the best idea that I found was for the invitations to look like really airplane tickets.

I needed help with the party planning for an Elmo birthday party and I found an idea for an Ernie’s Rubber Duck Pond game and also for a Pin the Cookie in Cookie Monster’s Mouth game. 

These ideas were perfect for our young guests.  Everyone had a great time, especially the adults.

My daughter wanted me to help with the party planning for an ice cream party for her and her friends.  I found some great ideas online and used a few of them. 

My daughter had the best ideas, though, I don’t even think she really needed my help with the party planning, but I’m glad she asked for it.

Another year, my daughter became obsessed with Hollywood and wanted to have an Oscar party for her birthday.  I thought that it sounded really interesting and I went online for party planning ideas.  I found a bunch more ideas than I had thought that I would. 

One of my favorite ideas, and one that I used, was to put a red carpet for the guests to walk up to our front door on.

I think that when I look back at all of the parties I have helped with and thrown,

I think that my favorite party was the one that we had for my daughter’s fifth birthday. 

That seems like a hundred years ago, now.  My late mother helped with the party planning; maybe that is why I have such fond memories of the event.
